Install VNC
How to install VNC server for a business clients machine.
Notes:
VNC naming may seem backwards. The machine who's desktop is being viewed is considered the "Server", the desktop doing the viewing is considered the "Client" and runs the "Viewer".
The VNC server will only be accessible through SSH.
- Download TightVNC package from www.tightvnc.com
- Download the mirage screen driver here
- Install Mirage driver
- Use winzip to extract to the c:\temp folder then run the Inst.exe file.
- Click yes when informed of Digital Signature not found.
- Install tightvnc
- Run the tightvnc executable.
- Click ok if prompted about the dangers of running an executable.
- Next
- Next
- Leave defaults selected. Next
- Check, Associate, Register Service & Start or restart... Next
- Install
- Ok
- Finish
- Change the password to the assigned password. Leave the rest of the TightVNC Server Defaults at defaults.
- Login using the user account in which the VNC server needs to run. The user most logged in or every user if there are multiple accounts.
- Configure User account
- Start VNC server, edit the defaults.
- Server tab. Change the password to the assigned password.Uncheck
block remote input events - Query tab, Check
Query Console, default action = accept. - Click OK to accept new configuration.
