The clean-up is our most economical plan to get your computer working like new.

We will:

1. Pick-up your PC at a location of your choice as long as it is within a reasonable distance of West Chester. We ask that you have the computer turned on [1] and the original software CDs available when we arrive [2].
2. Clean out all of your temp folders to free up space [2].
3. Clean out viruses performing two scans with two separate anti-virus packages [2].
4. Clean out spyware/trojans and other invaders using two different anti-spyware packages and two scans each.
5. Speed up access to applications on your hard drive by performing a defrag
6. Install RAM if necessary and after receiving approval from you.
7. Install licensed Anti-virus software, Anti-Spyware & Firewall software if necessary and after receiving approval from you. Note our recommended Anti-Virus Software is AVG by Grisoft which gives you TWO years of automatic updates. Two years without worrying whether your anti-virus definitions are up to date [3].
8. Test the standard applications, sound output and internet connectivity.
9. We don't just drop off your PC. We hand deliver the computer to your home then take the time to show you it works and explain how to keep it clean and functioning. Tips such as turning off your cable modem when not using it. If there is other work to be performed while onsite, we would be happy to perform the work for you at our regular rates. How about a Service Plan to reduce those regular rates?

Our Goal is to leave you with a properly functioning computer with the protection and procedures necessary to keep it that way. There are no guarantees, there is an escalating battle between the virus writers and the anti-virus providers. However, most people do the equivalent of leaving the car in the parking lot with the doors open, the ignition on and a sign saying steal me. We leave you with the equivalent of a locked car stored in a locked garage. It is still possible to steal it but more difficult and usually not worth the effort for the thieves.

[1] We need to confirm the computer is in working order before we take it from the premises.

[2] We need your computer's original software CDs in case we need to perform a repair or reinstall. We make every effort to clean your computer without having to perform a repair or reinstall. Unfortunately we can not guarantee a reinstall or repair won't be necessary. In the case where a repair or reinstall is recommended, we will call you to confirm.

[3] Virus and Spyware infections are the number one reason residential customers call for our services. In most cases, their anti-virus software had expired without their notice. The viruses noticed!
